Submission for Preggo Pixels Game Jam 2025

Maxi Mom has to defend Mega City from the forces of evil!
As Maxi Mom defeats evil spirits, she absorbs and purifies them, becoming more and more pregnant. But as she approaches her limit, difficulty will ramp up as her movement speed is slowed. If you can't absorb more power and push her limits, she'll go into labour and the level will end. But if you can keep on fighting, she'll achieve a limit break and grow bigger than ever before!

No sound, I'm afraid, we didn't have anyone on the team for this project who could do sound assets and the rules of the jam restricted us from using store bought sound assets.

Plugins used: DOTween and Odin Inspector for Unity.

Playable in browser, but we were unable to solve a bug that seems to prevent controller input from working in browser :( Downloadable PC executable should support controller input.

I really like this but you have to change your key set up because Q, E, F is a lot farther for the fingers to press than Z, X, C when you spam them.
Playing this game in full screen seems to end the game prematurely before you can go beyond 8 even if you still have health.
After you limit break, the flash is not intentionally challenging and hinders your ability to survive and keep playing.
A pause menu would also be good because I want to rest and keep my progress instead of slogging through more waves of enemies from the restart.

Yo.

8 is mi best record. Is there an end to your game?

What I like:
- For now, it's a unique gameplay in this Jam.
- Simple but effective game.
- Dynamic and engaging. You always want to do better.
- I find the powers complementary. When used well, they allow you to avoid a large amount of damage and maintain the pace.
- The physics are good and fluid. The game handles very well, even on the keyboard (I don't have a controller.)

I don't like:
- The slowdown time before a limit break.

Final point:

A nice game that, in my opinion, is quite well balanced. Easy to play, hard to master. It makes you want to beat it.

Thank you for submitting your project. I didn't expect to be challenged, and it was enjoyable. Good luck and good work. :3
